Image Engineering Laboratory was founded in 1994. Its aim is to understand image and video contents and to apply them to help various human activities. Research area of the laboratory covers most of the research topics in image processing: machine vision, image enhancement, segmentation, video analysis, pattern recognition, and MPEG-7 standardization.
Since its foundation, Image Engineering Laboratory produced about 70 graduates and the laboratory educates 7 Ph.D. students and 13 M.S. students currently. Image Engineering Laboratory has been funded from many corporations and government organizations and successfully accomplished about 50 projects in last 5 years. Also, about 240 papers are published and about 40 patents are applied from this laboratory.
